Experiences from Moms on the Island

Nadia (about traveling with her husband and two children):

Hi friends, I'm sharing with you life hacks and just experience, how to go on a long vacation to Thailand with my husband and two children and not die under the pounds of suitcases and tears from the left at home well very "necessary" toys. We are going to wait out the cold weather we don't like on the island of Samui. Having booked a maximally equipped villa, in communication with the owners found out that there is nothing for children there, especially for small children and all that the owners could provide us with was a crib for babies for an extra fee.

And what to do? I start packing my bags. And I realize I'm going to be carrying half the house. And the remaining half to buy on the spot, hoping after the vacation to sell it all to someone somewhere. I sat down to scour the Internet for what in general where and how to buy on the island, and then I came across a site of guys on rentals, contacted and asked around! Oh, my goodness! We are saved, I just exhaled, and put out of suitcases everything except for things. It turns out that you can rent everything you need: toys for any age, strollers, books in Russian, boards, fences, playpens, cribs, car seats, high chairs, high chairs, play corners and much more.

Even renting bicycles was possible. And we didn't even expect to be able to please our eldest son, who can't imagine a walk without his bike. When we arrive, we will take more bicycles for the whole family and enjoy active vacations on non-hot days.

By the way, regarding visas and budget, remember that you will need a visa to travel to Thailand for more than 30 days. Be sure to research visa requirements and deadlines, and information about travel borderran in advance. And to save money, use budget planning tips such as finding accommodation and dining options that suit you.

Tips:
1. Check with your host or hotel in advance about accommodations and any extras you need beyond the standard ones.
2 Renting baby items: Consider renting baby items in advance to avoid overloading your suitcases.
3. Plan outdoor activities: If traveling with children, look for ways to cater to their interests, such as renting bikes for outdoor activities and researching kid-friendly activities on the island in advance.
4. Visa information: Check visa requirements in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises. Read about Borderran and other visa extensions for long-term vacations.
5. Budgeting: Use budgeting tips to consider costs, including choosing appropriate lodging, meals and options for additional rentals.

Yulia (about traveling with one child):

Good afternoon everyone, I'm Julia, I want to tell a little about the trip to Thailand. I was going on vacation for 2 weeks in Thailand alone with my daughter. Since my husband couldn't fly with us, I didn't have strong arms to carry all the necessary things. We didn't want to take a lot and I found ways to make the vacation comfortable without carrying a lot of stuff.
The most important thing is to first of all carefully make a list of everything you need. Such a list will help to get ready faster and not to miss anything important. I also found a service in which you can just rent everything you need, and not drag it across half the globe. You can rent bicycles, high chairs, cribs, bisiboards, educational toys, toys for the beach, strollers and other things from small things to large-sized things. One of the big pluses was the rental of children's motorcycle helmets. Since my daughter and I were planning an active vacation, these helmets kept our adventures safe and made us feel like real explorers.

As for medical safety, don't forget about insurance. This can be taken before departure or upon arrival on the island through local representatives. In addition, carry a first aid kit and find out the location of the nearest medical clinic or hospital. Learn the rules of the road in Thailand, especially if you plan to rent a car or motorcycle.

Tips:
1. Prepare a list ahead of time: Make a detailed list of items to make packing easier.
2. Rent items: Consider renting baby items to save space in your luggage.
3. Safety: Take care of medical safety, including insurance, first aid kit, and familiarize yourself with Thailand's traffic patterns.

Марина (о приеме гостей с детьми):My name is Marina and my husband, children and I have been living on one of the Thai islands for a year now. We have already adapted our life and everyday life to the local peculiarities, and everything seems ordinary to us, but when our friends with children are going to fly to us, we realized that we can't do without additional things for the kids... Besides, it is important to tell about the peculiarities and share just experience with those who have not been here.
So, one of the features of Thailand is a friendly attitude of locals to children. Thais are always happy to communicate with young guests, and children easily find a common language regardless of language barriers. Do not hesitate to communicate with the locals, they love it very sincerely, even when they do not understand what you say. But it will remain in your memory as a very pleasant memory and will always raise your mood.
I want to say a few words regarding the preparation of children for the trip: do not forget to take their favorite toys and books in Russian. Also take into account that local restaurants offer children's portions or adapted dishes, which makes the trip gastronomically rich and interesting. Almost any place of food is ready to adjust to your needs and somewhere even cook individually for you (if possible) without charging you huge extra fees.

And also, very by the way, we were able not to buy for our friends all sorts of necessary baby supplies, but just rented them.
I hope our experience was useful to you and you will be able to visit this wonderful country and its islands in particular with great comfort.

Tips:
1. Friendliness of locals: Enjoy the friendly attitude of locals towards children and actively socialize with locals.
2. Children's preparation: Bring your favorite toys and books in Russian for children or rent them already on the island.
3. Gastronomic Diversity: Explore local cuisine and restaurants offering kid-friendly portions or adapted dishes.
4. Rent baby gear: Consider renting essential baby gear for guests with children.
